PERSONALIZED SALINA CRUZ SURF COACHING

Become the Surfer You Know You Can Be.

Train with two generations of Salina Cruz surfers
through personalized coaching, professional video
analysis, and authentic local knowledge.

More Than a Surf Trip.

There are places where you go to catch waves. And there are places that remind you why you fell in love with surfing in the first place.

At LunaCoral, surfing is more than chasing perfect waves. It’s about understanding the ocean, learning from those who have spent a lifetime in it, and building the confidence to become a better surfer.

The ocean has always been our greatest teacher. Now, we’d like to share those lessons with you.

MEET YOUR COACHES

Different perspectives. Shaped by the same ocean.

Salina Cruz surf coaching with Uriel Camacho and Linda Coral at LunaCoral

“What we know about surfing was shaped here."

URIEL CAMACHO
A Lifetime in the Ocean.

LINDA CORAL
A New Generation in the Water.

Local knowledge. Competitive insight. Coaching built around you.

Uriel brings more than 30 years of experience surfing Salina Cruz and over two decades guiding surfers along this coastline. Linda brings a fresh perspective — modern technique, competitive experience, and the insight of Mexico’s 2026 Women’s National Champion. That path eventually took her to represent Mexico at the ISA Junior World Surfing Championship.

Father and daughter. Coach and athlete. Two perspectives shaped by the same waves.

“This isn’t coaching from a manual. It comes from experience in the ocean, passed from one generation to the next — and now shared with you.”

URIEL CAMACHO

Before I learned to surf, I learned to listen to the ocean.

I was nine years old when I learned to swim in the ocean, at the beach break where I grew up in Salina Cruz. Before entering the water, I would always say the same thing:

“Hola, Ola como estas.”

I learned by playing with the ocean — swimming into waves, feeling their energy and figuring out how to move with them. One day, instead of riding over the crest, I stretched out an arm and dropped down the face. For the first time, I saw the inside of a barrel.

I had discovered bodysurfing without ever seeing anyone do it.

Years later, I found a second-hand 7’0 single-fin at a market in Tijuana. Five friends shared that one board at Punta Conejo. Five waves each. A surfing magazine was our only reference.

No coach. No internet. At first, not even wax.

We learned through wipeout after wipeout after wipeout.

More than 30 years later, those early lessons still shape the way I coach. Technique matters, but surfing begins before the takeoff. It begins with reading the ocean — positioning, timing, wave selection, and learning to move with its energy instead of fighting it.

I learned to surf from the ocean. Now I help surfers learn to read it for themselves.

LINDA CORAL

Quiet by nature. Fierce by instinct.

Linda first stood on a surfboard when she was four years old.

She would paddle out with her father on a longboard, wearing a little life jacket and riding waves together. There was no training plan, no competition and no expectations.

She simply wanted to surf.

For years, surfing was just that — something she loved.

Then competition changed everything.

Linda entered Mexico’s Olimpiada Nacional CONADE and won a bronze medal in her first national competition, surfing against some of the best young surfers in the country.

She loved the pressure, the atmosphere, and the challenge.

She came home wanting more — and asked her father to become her coach.

What began as a father sharing waves with his daughter became a focused coaching partnership built around training, technique, wave selection, timing, and understanding exactly when and where to attack a wave.

But Linda brought something entirely her own:

Discipline. Talent. Competitive instinct. And a strong ability to learn fast.

Away from the water, Linda is quiet, humble, and reserved.

In the water, she becomes something completely different — focused, fearless, and ready to compete.

That path eventually took her to represent Mexico at the ISA Junior World Surfing Championship, where she continued learning under pressure and gaining experience against some of the best young surfers in the world.

BEYOND SURFING

Some waves become part of your life. Some become worth protecting.

For Uriel, Salina Cruz has never been just a place to surf. It’s home.

Growing up here meant discovering these waves long before Salina Cruz became an international surf destination. Over the years, that connection has grown into something more — a responsibility to help protect the coastline that shaped his life.

Uriel has worked alongside local surfers and conservation organizations to help protect Punta Conejo and the surrounding coastline for future generations.

The same waves that taught him how to surf are the waves he now helps protect.

COACHING BUILT AROUND YOUR SURFING

Not every surfer needs the same kind of coaching.

Some surfers want to improve their technique, understand waves better, make better decisions and become more confident in the lineup.

Others are already competing and want to turn their surfing into better competitive performance.

At LunaCoral, coaching starts by understanding where your surfing is today — and where you want to take it.

PROGRESSION COACHING

For surfers who want to improve their overall surfing — not just perform better maneuvers.

We work on technique, positioning, timing, wave selection, and understanding how to read each section of a wave.

Through personalized coaching and video analysis, we identify what may be holding your surfing back and work on the details that can help you progress.

The goal is simple: understand the ocean better, make better decisions, and surf with more confidence.

COMPETITION COACHING

For competitive surfers — or those preparing for competition.

Competition coaching brings together two perspectives: Uriel’s experience coaching with Mexico’s National Surf Team and Linda Coral’s experience as an active competitive surfer and national team athlete.

Linda is Mexico’s 2026 CONADE U16 Women’s Shortboard Champion and has represented Mexico at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in 2025 and 2026, as well as the 2026 Pan American Surfing Games in Playa Venao, Panama.

We work on heat strategy, wave selection, scoring potential, maneuver placement, decision-making under pressure, and turning your best surfing into competitive performance.

Train with purpose. Compete with confidence.

A WEEK BUILT AROUND PERFECT WAVES.

PROFESSIONAL SURF FILMING

& VIDEO ANALYSIS

You feel one thing on the wave. The camera often shows you something completely different.

Every session tells you something about your surfing. Video lets you see what you couldn’t feel while you were on the wave.

Throughout the week, your surf sessions are professionally filmed from land, water, and the air, depending on the conditions.

The footage allows us to look at the details — positioning, timing, technique, wave selection, and the decisions you make on each wave.

At the end of the day, we sit down and review the footage together. Small details that are difficult to feel while surfing often become obvious when you see them on video.

And when the week is over, you don’t just leave with better surfing. You leave with the waves, barrels, and moments that made the trip yours.

FISH. SURF. FEAST.

Some days in Salina Cruz are about more than surfing.

We leave before sunrise by boat, carrying surfboards and fishing gear, heading toward remote stretches of coastline and waves that can only be reached from the ocean.

We fish along the way, surf when we find the right conditions, and bring the catch back home.

That evening, the fish becomes dinner.

Fish. Surf. Feast.

A simple day on the ocean — and one of those experiences you’ll probably remember long after the trip is over.

YOUR HOME IN SALINA CRUZ

This isn’t a hotel. It’s our home — built around surfing.

Wake up before sunrise, grab a coffee and head out for dawn patrol. Come back after hours in the water, cool off in the pool, share stories from the session and recharge before heading out again.

At the end of the day, we gather around the table for a homemade Oaxacan dinner, talk about the waves we surfed and get ready to do it all over again tomorrow.

This is what life at LunaCoral is about — surf, eat, rest, repeat.
